Description

A GOOD 1900 TO 1940 DATE TRADITIONAL STYLE GRAN CANARIES KNIFE FROM THE CANARY ISLANDS OF OF SPAIN.
The blade is of carbon steel and sharp, native worked and showing some file marks along both sides due to how these are finished, it has some decorative engraving on one side and has the typical integral bolster as seen on all of these knives from small to large, this one is a middle size version.
The hilt is made from nickel silver for ferrule and pommel end tubes and the mid section grip is of brass and various colours of horn with spacers and intricate work in brass and nickel, it is topped of at its pommel end with a brass pommel nit which the end of the tang goes through and is then peaned over to keep it in place, there is no looseness or other damage, no rust etc and no edge niks to the blade which is in good shape for age, well kept.
size is 23.5cm total length, blade is 14 cm.
