Baoulé mask - Ivory Coast

ENGLISH SPEAKING
Dimensions of 32 x 22 x 8.5 cms.
Weight about 0.700 kg without packaging.
Materials: Wood.
Presumed age: Mid twentieth century.
Mask of the Baoulé ethnic group, from central Côte d'Ivoire.
The piece has a face borrowed from an extreme serenity. It is adapted and designed for carrying, the back side adapting perfectly to the dancer's face. Traces of old erosion on the rear part.
Provenance: Hamadou "Bouaflé" Nima, one of the most important African art dealers in all of West Africa, when he lived in Treichville, Abidjan, 2010.
