This is an extremely well-crafted Navajo (Arizona)
Wrought Silver Geometric Rug Design
bolo tie that is set with a lovely cabochon of high-grade Bisbee
turquoise. The silver overlay is exceptionally beautiful, precise, clean, and lovely. The tie was made by famous, award-winning Navajo artist Peter Nelson and is stamped with his hallmark name. Peter Nelson's
designs are based on his familiarity with his mother's and sister's Navajo rug designs. A silver "figure-eight" loop on the back secures the soft, six-ply black leather strap.
The rectangular tie is
2-5/16" tall and 1-3/16" wide
. The lovely and unusual artist custom-made
sterling silver
tips are each 3" long
. The black leather strap appears to be the original one and shows virtually no wear.
