Description
From a forgotten box in my office closet (and a Casas Adobes estate here in Tucson around the time of the Millennium) is this vintage Navajo silver concha bolo. The slightly domed and scallop edge concha slide exhibits plenty of visual charisma and currently resides on a commercial replacement cording with nickel tips - while these are in good shape and perfectly serviceable in every way, you might consider sourcing a new cord and pair of traditional silver cord tips to elevate things a notch. The old style Bennett type slide fitting still works just fine. That said, I'm starting this low so you have an option (or a head start) with those more appropriate tips. Weight is good for the form at about 21.3 total grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with a nice aura of time to the silver concha. I have avoided any urge to refresh or "improve" - you want that done, you do it. The Bennett fitting works exactly as it should, and the current cords and tips are ready for duty. All signs of previous neck duty and time in a drawer simply validate the history. A look at those pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Size of the slide is about is about 1 27/32 in. vertical and 1 23/32 in. horizontal. If you are partial to vintage, or simply wish a single cool upgrade to the ambiance of each day, this will have great meaning for you. NOTE: I have decided to do this as a final sale auction as in the old days, so feel free to ask any questions and bid accordingly::
