    Description

The choice of professional trumpeters nearly everywhere, the P5-4 is among the finest of all piccolo trumpets.  Schilke quality and craftsmanship is unsurpassed.
This is part of the estate of my long-time friend.  He bought it years ago, didn't play it much, and it sat mostly idle the last 10 years.  I've cleaned it and been through it, and the valves, felts, springs, corks, slides are all fine.  This horn is in excellent condition, no blemishes on the silver finish except one nearly microscopic ding in the bell that the camera can't see.
It comes with the Schilke 11AX mouthpiece, designed for and ideally suited to this instrument.
The tuning slide adjusts to play in Bb or A.  Water keys on the 3rd and 4th valve slides.  This has no finger rings on the 1st or 3rd valve slides.
I've played piccolo trumpet about 30 years, owned 3, played 125+ weddings, a couple dozen Messiahs, and other orchestral pieces using the picc.   I've had the chance to play it the last few weeks, and it is everything they say it is- bright, clear, even in all registers, with excellent intonation;  as easy-playing piccolo as you can find.   I'm really tempted to buy it myself, and if I didn't already own a pro-quality picc, (Stomvi Elite), I would.  I think the Schilke is just a shade brighter, which some prefer, others don't.
If you're a serious trumpet player, you know what this is and that it's a very fair price. It's a good deal at this price, I probably won't be inclined to accept offers much lower than the bid price.
This can be the last picc you ever buy.   If you know how to play the picc, you will not be disappointed in this one.
I'll bubble-wrap it like crazy and ship it in an old, but solid. cornet case, USPS priority mail.
