SUPER RARE 1930's RCA/NBC 50A Inductor Microphone - Working with RCA stand

Offering a
crazy rare find...you only ever see these in museums!
An original working 1930's era
RCA Victor 50-A inductor microphone, original 2 sided NBC flag/yoke, plus the RCA 91-C Desk Stand
. This microphone was acquired from a gentleman in Cape Cod, just outside New York City. Word is that this item was used in an early NBC television station in New York City.

Nothing on this package has been reproduced! The
condition is overall very good
with no dents or sign of damage.
Amazingly,
even though this mic may have been sitting dormant for many decades,
it still produces a clean signal
when voice-tested
, with audio quality commensurate with dynamic microphones of that early era. (Output level on these were a bit lower than modern mics, so will need more amplification.)
This mic is a brute...the internal motor consists of a massive iron magnet with a thin wire diaphragm (pre-ribbon but similar principle) and transformer to boost the audio level...can be used with any standard audio amplifier. (
NO PHANTOM POWER NEEDED
.)
The housings on these 50-A models are solid brass, but they
oxidized over the decades giving them
the rich darkened patina.
The mic
includes the (often missing) old UA-3-12 Cannon plug
on the back of the mic
wired to
a
new 3 foot cable with a
standard male XLR
.

You may notice a bit of
green
and
red
paint on the rear cannon connector port. I was told that early TV /network studios would occasionally add color codes the mics to help the control room/engineers identify which mic was feeding master control. The supporting yoke has the original 2 thumbnuts to secure the tilt angle, pipe thread with 5/8" thread adapter, and features
dual NBC flags
with raised letters on black background. It sits atop the
RCA 91C desk stand
which still has the paper RCA label underneath, and a nice original RCA med "meatball" badge on top. (These stands originally had a chrome strip up the center, but for on-camera use, those chrome strips were sometimes removed to avoid reflective glare from studio lights.) New felt has been added to the underside of the stand to protect your desktop.
