    Description

    Offering a
    vintage 1930's BRUNO LABS Model 1240A VELOTRON MICROPHONE
    .
    William A. Bruno of the Bruno Laboratories in New York City invented the "Velotron" way back in the mid 1930's. The internal element consisted of a rather crude single wafer-like matrix, layers of metal "ribbons" sandwiched between a thin plate of copper, and required phantom voltage to operate. Unfortunately, at best they sounded like an old carbon mic. We removed that dead element and
    installed a new studio quality ribbon motor
    using powerful
    Neodymium magnets
    plus a Geistnote transformer.
    It sounds fantastic...rich tones, strong output, and NO phantom power required.
    It was missing the support yoke so we replaced it with a reproduced yoke, and also completely
    restored the mic's casing
    with new paint and clear coat. Now this mic looks as good as it sounds! A 3 foot cable with male XLR plug has been hardwired to the mic, and
    the
    super heavy  vintage
    desk stand is
    included
    .
