    Description

    Offering a vintage, working, and
    super rare
RCA model PB90A2 ribbon velocity microphone from the 1930's, including a long cable and vintage desk stand.
(RCA master indexed this mic as
    MI-4000-AF, serial #2358.
    )
    The PB90
immediately preceded the legendary RCA 44 series and is the same size and relative style. It has a massive magnetic drive/transformer, both original and unmolested, and super clean inside. The ribbon's in perfect condition/tension, producing a strong clean output, the internal front and back shields are intact that protect the delicate ribbon. This thing is
    a crooner's dream
in terms of a "big" sound
    with
    lots of
    proximity effect
    .

    This PB90 has benefitted from
    mild exterior restoration
    . The
    perforated
    upper basket
polished up real nice showing off that gorgeous brass with a clear coat applied to arrest any future oxidation, along with new internal wind-cloth. The lower casing has been repainted and protective clear coat added, its metal RCA makers badge is nice and sharp, and has been fitted with a standard 5/8" thread for mic stand or boom mount.
    The
    VERY heavy-weighted vintage
    desk stand is also included
...it weighs 5 pounds, so will secure the mic from being bumped over.
    The
    original heavy 10' shielded cable
is in good shape as well, no cracking or stiffness, wired to a 3 pin male XLR plug.
This will make a great addition to someone's working mic collection, the discerning musician, studio/recording professional, or voice-over artist. Overall weight is over 10 pounds, and stands 14" tall.
