Vintage F.E. Olds Los Angeles Standard Trumpet; Ryan Kisor, Lacquer

This vintage FE Olds Standard trumpet is from the private collection of esteemed jazz trumpeter Ryan Kisor. As a native to Sioux City, IA, it has been a privilege to serve Ryan and his family for many years. We consider it a great honor to offer several items of his personal collection for sale on our Reverb page.
Overall, this instrument is in great condition. The serial number, 20355, dates it to 1946-47. Cosmetically, it has been re-lacquered in the past and looks great (as shown in the last photo, there is a bit of lacquer run on the bell). The bell engraving is crisp and clear, despite the lacquer job. The valves are quick and slides are smooth. Compression is great, age considered, and the horn plays nicely. The valve plating is in good condition, with minor staining, and all serial numbers match. This is a great playing condition horn and has plenty of life left to give.  If you want to see a picture of anything specific or have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask.
